On 6 January 2024, UpScale-Day sprang to life at Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Islam Daerah Pontian. Organised by students from SBSD 4083 Project Management (Sec 01) under the guidance of Dr Mohd Zulfabli Hasan, the event aimed to enrich educational opportunities within the community. The initiative primarily focused on Faculty of Management UTM’s students sharing their knowledge with children at the orphanage as target participants, while also seeking to raise awareness among local residents about the importance of recycling in their daily lives.

This gathering brought together 50 enthusiastic children and 60 dedicated FM UTM students in a day filled with activities aimed at fostering growth, empowerment, and overall development. Remarkable support for the programme came from main sponsors such as Aturan Cafe, BHP Petrol, Universal Sambal Taman Universiti, Konfar Trading, Uncle Janggut Rice Shop, Umi Kitchen, Angah D&C, and Lotus’s Malaysia
The meticulously planned agenda of UpScale-Day successfully merged education with community engagement, playing a pivotal role in nurturing the growth and empowerment of its participants. The focus was on imparting valuable knowledge and practical skills to the children, aligning with the broader vision of instilling project management, leadership qualities, and the principles of 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) into their daily lives.
