Dr. Norhazrina Jamil
Dr Norhazrina Jamil has almost 20 years of industrial experience in quality management, Lean Six Sigma, and supply chain management before fully transitioning into academia. She first served as a part-time lecturer at UNIKL–MITEC in 2013, where she contributed to teaching and curriculum support in engineering and management-related courses. Beginning March 2025, she joined the Faculty of Management, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as a Senior Lecturer, specializing in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, and Lean Six Sigma. Her teaching integrates industry-oriented perspectives, emphasizing evidence-based practices, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement methodologies. Her current research focuses on a collaborative intervention project involving urban and rural public schools to address student dropout risks through the development of a socio-educational intervention model. She actively engages with community organizations and NGOs to ensure that the research delivers meaningful social impact and benefits to students and their learning environments. Dr Norhazrina has authored several journal articles related to sustainability and the application of Lean Six Sigma within industrial case studies. Her research contributions reflect a strong commitment to advancing practical, scalable solutions for operational excellence and sustainable performance. She earned her Bachelor of Engineering with Honors (Chemical Engineering) from Universiti Sains Malaysia, followed by a Master of Science (Industrial Engineering) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2020, where her doctoral research centered on continuous improvement and sustainable Lean Six Sigma frameworks.
