8th January 2026 – Faculty of Management UTM successfully hosted an AI awareness campaign titled “Spot the Fake!” at the FM Convention Hall. The event was organised by students of the Information Technology in Business Course (SFMD1063). The campaign aimed to raise awareness on deepfake detection and responsible AI usage, providing participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience to better navigate challenges in today’s digital landscape.

Event highlights included:
-Interactive booths with live demonstrations on identifying fake images, videos, and AI-generated content
– Exposure to free online tools for detecting deepfakes and AI hallucinations
-Exploration of AI ethics guidelines to promote safer and more responsible use of artificial intelligence
-Student exhibitions and posters, where each group showcased their station through creative presentations and hands-on demonstrations
The “Spot the Fake!” campaign successfully fostered digital awareness, critical thinking, and ethical responsibility, reflecting the faculty’s commitment to experiential learning and current technological issues.
