From 13โ€“17 April 2026, students from Faculty of Management UTM participated in the Social Innovation Project Bootcamp 2026 hosted by the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya.
Representing the Bachelor of Management (Marketing) with honours , Chia Qiu Ting, Noor Syahirah Sapari, Chia Re Jia and Alif Syafi Mohd Azmi demonstrated strong collaboration, critical thinking and a passion for creating meaningful change.
Accompanied by Dr Nor Emmy Shuhada Derani, the students were guided through an immersive and impactful learning experience.
A key highlight of the programme was the field engagement session in Gebang Putih, where students worked directly with local residents and district officers. Through interviews, observations, and discussions, they identified real community challenges and co-developed practical, innovative solutions aimed at improving overall well-being.

Through this programme, students gained:

  • Exposure to social innovation and sustainable thinking
  • Enhanced teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
