Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Hosts Successful International Undergraduate Research Conference (IURC 2024) on January 7th. In a remarkable showcase of academic excellence and research prowess, the School of Undergraduate Studies at UTM organized the prestigious International Undergraduate Research Conference (IURC 2024) on January 7, 2024. The event garnered attention for its commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among undergraduate students.
A standout moment from the conference was the recognition bestowed upon Fu Yu, a Bachelor of Management (Marketing) undergraduate from the Faculty of Management at UTM. Under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thoo Ai Chin, Fu Yu clinched the highly coveted Best Undergraduate Research Award. This achievement reflects the dedication and quality of research carried out by the students at UTM. The conference provided a platform for 10 undergraduates from the Faculty of Management to showcase their Final Year Projects (FYP) through meticulously designed posters. Dressed in professional business attire, each participant demonstrated a remarkable blend of professionalism and enthusiasm while discussing their projects, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
Initiated in 2024, the IURC conference has quickly become an annual international event, drawing participants not only from UTM but also from various Malaysian universities and countries such as Indonesia and Mexico. This year witnessed the active participation of 250 undergraduates from diverse UTM faculties and other Malaysian universities, along with 30 international undergraduates. The conference served as a melting pot of ideas, fostering a rich exchange of perspectives and insights.
Heartfelt appreciation is extended to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Jusoh, the Dean of the Faculty of Management, along with all FYP supervisors and faculty members, for their unwavering moral support to the presenters.
