Faculty of Management UTM welcomed CPA Australia for a professional visit on 24 July 2026, strengthening collaboration between the university and the global professional accounting body.
Representing CPA Australia Malaysia, Mr. Izzudin delivered an insightful session on the pathway to becoming a CPA member, highlighting opportunities for UTM students to pursue professional accounting membership and enhance their career readiness.
The visit also explored several potential initiatives, including accreditation pathways for UTM students, the establishment of a UTM Student Ambassador Programme, and broader student engagement activities. Discussions further highlighted the potential for UTM to become a tuition provider for CPA Australia, opening new opportunities for students to access professional accounting education and qualifications.
The Faculty warmly welcomed the CPA Australia delegation, led by the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Jusoh, together with the Head of the Department of Accounting & Finance and lecturers. Their participation reflected the Faculty’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with professional bodies and industry.
The engagement marks an important step towards developing a long-term partnership in professional accreditation, student leadership, and career development, while providing UTM students with greater exposure to internationally recognised professional pathways.
Adding further significance to the collaboration, the following day, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dewi Fariha Abdullah was formally awarded her CPA Australia membership certificate at the Johor Membership Certificate Ceremony. This achievement represents a meaningful milestone in the growing relationship between UTM and CPA Australia.
The Faculty of Management looks forward to further strengthening this partnership and creating greater opportunities for UTM students and academic staff to connect with the professional accounting community.
