Kurdistan, Iraq — On 7 October 2023, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Qaiwan International University (QIU) celebrated their inaugural joint convocation marking a significant milestone in the history of both academic institutions. UTMSPACE is deserving of commendation for its effective administration and successful management as well as the regulation of this franchise programme, which has resulted in the high-quality educational standards to all enrolled students.
Congratulations to the graduating class of 2023! This collaboration between UTM and QIU is a testament to UTM’s dedication and commitment to transnational education within the context of globalisation. The recipients of Bachelor of Science degrees in Software Engineering, Network & Security, Management (Technology), and Human Resource Development were graduates from the three faculties, namely the:
- Faculty of Management UTM
- Faculty of Computing, UTM
- Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UTM
We aspire to broaden the scope of this collaboration by incorporating training and short courses, alongside the inclusion of master’s programmes in the near future.
Last but not least, we would like to acknowledge the diligent efforts of En. Mohd Sharimal Osman, Puan Fadlyana, Puan Norhaslina Harun, and En. Faris Ahmad, who were the backbone that played a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of the convocation session.
