International MonsoonSIM Enterprise Resource Management Competition 2022

Well done to our Faculty of Management UTM academicians, Dr Mohamad Shah Kassim (Department of Management and Technology) and Dr Mazilah Abdullah (Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship) for your dedication and outstanding effort in mentoring the UTM teams for the International MonsoonSIM Enterprise Resource Management Competition 2022 (eMERMC).

The competition was held on 19 November 2022 and has witnessed two teams, Dreaming Potato and eMillenium, created history by becoming the first teams from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia to secure 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up positions in the annual competition. Dreaming Potato brought home SGD1000.00, while eMillenium had won SGD600.00. Team Extraordinary Co of Universitas Islam Indonesia emerged as champion in this eMERMC 2022.

The competition was divided into two categories — Enterprise (33 teams) and Trading (30 teams). These participating teams were representing Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Philippines.

MERMC is an annual competition hosted by MonsoonSIM and its partners. MonsoonSIM is a business simulation and gamification education platform that allow students to learn by doing and exploring hundreds of fundamental business concepts that are applicable to trading, distribution, e-commerce, manufacturing, and service businesses. The competition requires teams consists of 4-5 members to run a virtual enterprise and compete with other enterprises run by other players or teams. Their performance will be judged based on a scoring matrix.
