University is a great place for students to nurture their creativity, innovation, and critical thinking skills. To further encourage students’ growth, the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management UTM has organised a student project event called “Presentation on Supply Chain Network Design for A Small-Scaled Manufacturing Business” on June 25, 2023.
Over the past 3 months, students undertaking the Supply Chain Management (SBSF3083) class of Bachelor of Management (Marketing) had been diligently working on their group projects, pouring their hearts and souls into their respective endeavours.
Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a critical function in the manufacturing industry. Every business needs to manage supply chain effectively from purchasing raw materials until delivery to the final customers. Students reflected the culmination of their learning experiences in classes, where they have applied theoretical knowledge of SCM to real-world scenarios, demonstrating their skills and abilities in designing an optimal supply chain network for diverse businesses such as flower tea, Arabian-Malaysian dessert, and crunchy popiah snack.
The Faculty of Management Marketing Lecturer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thoo Ai Chin invited two alumni: Mdm. Delma Poniman who currently serves as the Programme Director for Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Marketing 3+0 in collaboration with Bangor University UK at Kolej MDIS Malaysia and Mr. Subhass Sandaran as the Digital Marketing Executive at Airblast Asia as judges for the event. Having alumni as judges for student projects can be a valuable and beneficial experience for both the students and the alumni. Their role as mentors and evaluators not only leave a significant impact on the students’ projects but also serve as a source of motivation and encouragement for the students’ future careers.
Well done, Marketing!
