A successful Retail Talk was delivered by Mr. Ahmad Yazid Ahmad Salim, an esteemed alumnus of the Faculty of Management, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) on 31 March 2024, focusing on strategic planning and retail operations. Engaging nearly 60 Bachelor of Management (Marketing) students, Mr. Yazid who is the Managing Director of Gadget Studio Sdn. Bhd., shared insights from his electronics store business and his part-time venture, LAGILA.
This Retail Talk was organised by Dr. Zafir Md Salleh, the lecturer for Retail Management class to enhance the educational experience of our Marketing students.
Mr. Yazid covered vital topics such as the challenges of starting a retail business, managing cash flow, navigating supplier relations, and the importance of financial management, merchandise management, stock control, and customer engagement. The enriching session also featured a lively Q&A, where students delved into practical aspects of retail business operations and explored Mr. Yazid’s future aspirations in event and sports management.
