Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maisarah Mohamed Saat

Dr. Maisarah Mohamed Saat has been with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) since 1996 and is currently an Associate Professor of Accounting and Finance in the Faculty of Management. She also serves as an External Examiner for Diploma and Bachelor in Accounting programs at various institutions. With more than 25 years of teaching experience, she is actively involved in student development activities, service learning, community-based projects, and delivering national and international academic lectures within the courses she teaches. Her research passion is grounded on ethics and corporate governance. She has written more than 150 indexed and non-indexed publications including conference papers. She has published an original book titled ‘Ethics and Corporate Governance in Malaysia’ based on her experience in teaching and supervision on the subject matter. She is currently the Chief Editor of Journal of Contemporary Management Studies and sits in many editorial boards. She has supervised and graduated 26 PhD students and has been appointed as internal and external PhD thesis in various national and international institutions. Dr Maisarah earned her bachelors’ degree in Accounting from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Masters of Accountancy from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Her title of PhD thesis is ‘An Investigation of the Effects of a Moral Education Program on the Ethical Development of Malaysian Future Accountants’ (Curtin University, Western Australia – 2010).
