UTM Logistics Management Students Gain Real-World Insights in Exclusive Port Facility Tour

Valuable Real-World Exposure for Students in Logistics Management. In an effort to transcend beyond textbook theories, Dr. Noraindah Abdullah Fahim, from the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) recently facilitated an outside-the-classroom learning experience for her 39 final year Marketing students in the field of logistics and supply chain management. Pelabuhan Johor (Johor Port Authority). The programme’s main objective was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the role of transportation in the seamless flow of supply chains. This insightful session aimed to equip students with practical knowledge and exposure to the vital aspects of logistics and transportation, specifically the operational process of ports in the Johor area, the warehouses, and the systems involved. A highlight of the event was the port facility tour, where students could observe the operations

within the port and gather in-depth information about the warehouse facilities. This immersive experience was designed to enhance their understanding of the complexities and significance of transportation in maintaining the efficiency of supply chains.
