On May 12, 2024, the ๐๐ง๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฆ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐ง๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ (๐๐๐๐๐๐) at the Faculty of Management, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) launched the โArtificial Intelligence (AI) for Youthโ program, part of a broader framework of AI applications in society.
The program aims to cultivate the use of AI applications to enhance skills and productivity, specifically in content creation, graphic design, and video production among the youth. This collaborative venture with the Office of Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Kota Iskandar (Pusat Khidmat Wakil Rakyat N.49 Dun Kota Iskandar), Gerakan Belia 4B Kawasan Iskandar Puteri, and CelcomDigi took place at the National Information Distribution (NADI) Centre in Taman Desa Paya Mengkuang, Gelang Patah (Pusat Sebaran Maklumat Nasional – NADI Desa Paya Mengkuang).
The program, inaugurated by Mr. Mohamad Faiz bin Mohd Pandi, the Community Chief of Tanjung Kupang, representing YB Datuk Hj Pandak Ahmad, attracted 25 local youths and is the first in a series of four planned for 2024. Also in attendance were the Deputy Dean of Research, Innovation, and Development at the Faculty of Management, UTM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahadi Bahari, ISSIRG faculty members, Mr. Amru Zaman, Chair of Belia 4B Iskandar Puteri, and Mr. Shamsudin Sujak, Government Affairs Officer of CelcomDigi Southern Region.
This pioneering program is part of a broader Faculty of Managementโs University Social Responsibility (USR) initiative, serving as a pilot project with aspirations for expansion at both the state and national levels. The program highlights the facultyโs commitment to enhancing technological capabilities and fostering innovation within the community. It sets a benchmark for future endeavors in community engagement and development through technology.
