Assoc. Prof. Dr. Batiah Mahadi
Dr. Batiah Mahadi is an Associate Professor at Faculty of Management since 2015. Her research interests grounded in strategy formulation, entrepreneurship, e-business, technology innovation, economic impact, and service marketing. She has published in the area of strategy formulation, knowledge management, SME’s internationalization, entrepreneurship, sustainable firm performance, economic impact and service marketing. Currently, she is serving as one of the faculty’s research group leaders and a final year project coordinator for Department of Management and Technology. She has also reviewed several articles from high impact journal and collaborated with multidisciplinary researchers such as from biology, mathematics and remote sensing through grants awarded by Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education. Her recent published articles are in this book chapters; “Malaysia’s Sustainable Pathways” and “Lifestyle Marketing in Digital Age”. She started her career as a tutor in UTM in 1997. Since then, she has been teaching key management subjects such as economics, technology management, organizational behaviour, principles of management and engineering management to different level of cohorts from diploma, undergraduate to postgraduate level to different age group. Batiah’s academic training and experience has been both at local and international level. She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics, from University of Arizona, USA in 1994, MBA Techno-entrepreneurship from UTM in 2001 and a PhD from University of Western Australia, Australia in 2011. Her PhD thesis was on the strategy formulation by internet entrepreneurs. To date she has supervised and graduated several Masters and PhDs in her area of interest since 2012.
