Faculty of Management UTM conducted a course aimed at enhancing lecturersβ understanding of their roles and responsibilities as supervisors for postgraduate students and academic advisors for undergraduate students.
Held on 11 August 2025 at Hyatt Place Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru, the course was attended by academic staff of the Faculty of Management and administrative staff. Participants gained valuable insights into effective communication, guidance and monitoring strategies, while also fostering awareness of professional ethics essential in fulfilling both roles.
The session was enriched by the expertise of Prof. Dr. Nor Haniza Sarmin from the Faculty of Science and Dr. Mahani Stapa from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), who shared their knowledge and best practices in student supervision and academic advising.
This initiative reflects the Facultyβs commitment to empowering academic staff with the skills and knowledge needed to provide quality mentorship and academic guidance.
