The Research and Innovation Office, Faculty of Management UTM has successfully organised an interactive workshop, “From Idea to Publication: Navigating the Publishing Process of A Systematic Literature Review,” on July 6, 2023. The workshop is one of the rollout initiatives under the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Research and Innovation Blueprint 2025.
This workshop aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct a thorough and effective literature review in their respective fields. The workshop is monitored by Dr Saleh F. A. Khatib, our faculty’s prolific author, who also acts as the facilitator and speaker. Dr Saleh’s expertise and experience in publishing high-impact research are valuable to our postgraduate students who seek guidance on how to navigate the publishing process and increase their chances of having their work accepted in reputable journals.
The workshop is designed to help participants understand the systematic review methodology, including steps such as formulating research questions, identifying relevant literature, assessing study quality, and synthesising findings. Participants also have learned about tools and techniques for managing references, conducting searches, and organising data.
The Faculty of Management at UTM demonstrates its commitment to fostering research excellence and supporting the professional development of its academic community. Attending such an event can greatly benefit researchers by equipping them with the necessary skills to conduct high-quality systematic literature reviews, which are essential for evidence-based research and decision-making.
