On May 18 2023, a group of 28 students from the Faculty of Management, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) undertaking the Supply Chain Management (SBSF3083) and Customer Relationship Management (SBSF4023) classes of Bachelor of Management (Marketing) recently embarked on a fun and insightful Work-Based Learning (WBL) experience at Beryl’s Chocolate Museum 🍫 They had the unique opportunity to witness the magic behind every melt-in-your-mouth treat and learn from industry experts.
Together with the Faculty of Management Marketing Lecturer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thoo Ai Chin, they had viewed the process that encompasses the art of crafting chocolates, from bean to bar. The students gained valuable insights into the meticulous processes involved in creating these mouthwatering masterpieces. They explored the secrets of tempering, molding, and flavor infusion, ensuring every bite is pure bliss.
Education meets indulgence as the students merged classroom knowledge with real-world application. Their guide, a skilled chocolatier named Masyitah, explained the chocolate-making process, from the sourcing of high-quality cocoa beans to the tempering and molding of the final product.
After the educational tour concluded, the students were met with an unexpected treat— a tasting session featuring a variety of chocolate samples. The opportunity to taste chocolate at the end of their tour added a deliciously memorable dimension to the educational experience for the students. The immersive journey through the chocolate factory not only revealed the intricate process behind chocolate-making but also allowed the students to fully embrace the joy and wonder of indulging in the final product. This sweet conclusion left the students with newfound knowledge and an enduring love for the art of chocolate-making.
