Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), through its 18 undergraduate students from Healthcare Marketing (SBSF4153) class, has coordinated a Service Learning Project entitled “Overcoming Clinic Appointment Non-Adherence Among Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD) Patients” on 15 and 22 December 2022.
As mentioned by the Program Director, Mr. Sufi Kamal (Final Year Marketing), students were exposed to practical services, critical analysis and reflection of healthcare marketing through Experiential Learning method.
The program had attracted 39 elderly participants. “Mendepani 3 Serangkai” was delivered by Dr. Malvinder, a medical officer from Klinik Kesihatan Pekan Nenas. The discussion has addressed potential health concerns affecting aging people and ways to improve health by consuming nutritious foods.

Day 2 was filled with counselling programs at the specified stations whereby the participants engaged in a “Meet and Greet” sessions with UTM students who were collecting the elderly opinions on healthcare management. Well done to the entire Service Learning team!

This community based project was supervised by FM Marketing Senior Lecturer, Dr. Norzaidahwati Zaidin and a collaboration between Faculty of Management UTM and Klinik Kesihatan Air Tawar 2 (KKAT2), Kota Tinggi, Johor lead by Dr. Dewi Juliana.
This was followed by a talk from Dr. Shazwani, a KKAT2 medical officer, entitled “Kenali Klinik Kita (3K): Tak Kenal Maka Tak Cinta”. Mr. Faiz, the pharmacy officer, then concluded Day 1 with an orientation for the “Duta Ubat and Clinic Ride” personnel, which was formed to aid patients, particularly the elderly, in obtaining transportation to the clinic.
