The Accounting and Finance Department (JPK) and UTM Accounting Club have recently organised a program, PROACC: UTM x UNAND which was held on 29 October 2025 at DK1. It was an engaging and insightful event that brought together accounting students and academics from both UTM and Universitas Andalas, Padang, Indonesia (UNAND). The UNAND delegates were warmly welcomed by the JPK Head of Department, Assoc Prof. Dr Dewi Fariha Abdullah and UTMAC Advisor, Assoc Prof Dr Maisarah Mohamed Saat.
The program featured two distinguished speakers; Dr. Hanini Ilyana Binti Che Hashim, who shared her expertise on the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Accounting and Finance, and Dr. Rita Rahayu, M.Si., Akt., Ph.D, who delivered an enlightening talk on The Role of Digital Financial Literacy and Sustainability. Both sessions sparked lively discussions and exchanges of ideas between the speakers and participants, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and intellectual curiosity. Attendees actively engaged in Q&A sessions, sharing perspectives that bridged different academic and cultural backgrounds. The program not only strengthened the partnership between UTM and UNAND, but also encouraged participants to apply what they learned in their respective fields. Overall, the event was both memorable and impactful, leaving participants with valuable insights into the future of AI, digital literacy, and sustainability. It successfully fostered knowledge sharing, making it a truly meaningful experience for everyone involved.
