JOHOR BAHRU, 3 July 2025 – Meet Amir Hakim, a postgraduate student in the Master of IT Entrepreneurship (SKIT) program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), who has just launched HiMerch – Malaysia’s first-ever digital platform dedicated to managing and selling event merchandise entirely online!
The launch took place during the Johor-Singapore Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) Business Boost Program, officiated by MARA Director-General Dato’ Zulfikri Osman, as part of a bold initiative to strengthen the regional digital economy and empower local vendors and creative designers.
HiMerch isn’t just a tech platform – it was born from Amir’s real-world experiences as a UTM student under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ab Razak Che Hussin, combining research, innovation competitions, and MARA-led entrepreneurship mentorship.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Positioned at the heart of JS-SEZ, HiMerch is ready to scale across ASEAN, with a vision to become a national platform that uplifts small and medium-sized entrepreneurs – especially Bumiputera talents – into the digital marketplace.
