Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Ar Rasyid
Dr Muhammad Iqbal Arrasyid has been with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) since 2025 and is currently a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Management. He has 5 years of teaching experience in Malaysia and Indonesia. Previously, he was working in the advertising industry for 16 years. His research passion is grounded in business management and entrepreneurship. He has written more than 10 publications. His openness to cross-border engagement brings him to undertake international research project collaboration. In 2004, Dr Iqbal earned his bachelor’s degree in Financial Management from Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Keuangan dan Perbankan Indonesia (STEKPI). He started working in advertising before he earned his degree in 2003. At the end of 2017, he expressed interest in going “back to school”. Thus, he enrolled in a business management program and earned a Master’s in Management from Universitas Trilogi in mid-2019. His Supervisor at Universitas Trilogi persuaded him to serve as a lecturer and share his experience with the youngsters. His close relatives also encourage him to do so. This is how the career switch was happening. As a result, he began his academic career as a guest lecturer in two universities in Jakarta before settling as a permanent lecturer in mid-2021. In late 2020, he then pursued a PhD program in business economics at the School of Business and Economics, Universiti Putra Malaysia. His thesis is on social entrepreneurial behaviour. He graduated on time in mid- 2024.
