Dr. Nor Emmy Shuhada Derani

Dr. Nor Emmy Shuhada binti Derani has been with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) since September 2025 and is currently a lecturer in the Faculty of Management, Department of Marketing & Entrepreneurship. She has over eight years of teaching experience in Malaysia, spanning undergraduate and postgraduate programs, and has served in leadership roles including Head of Unit at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). She is also an experienced academic supervisor, mentoring Master’s and PhD students in UCYP University. Her research interests focus on entrepreneurship, indigenous entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and the role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in community development. She has authored numerous publications in high-impact journals and actively engages in research projects that intersect business innovation, social impact, and indigenous business practices. Her openness to cross-border collaboration has enabled her to contribute to international research initiatives and advisory projects, including customer satisfaction studies for national corporations and comparative studies on governance and electoral behavior in Malaysia. Dr. Nor Emmy Shuhada earned her Bachelor’s degree in Customer Service Management with a minor in Human Resource Management from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), a Master of Business (Public Relations) from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia, and her PhD in Entrepreneurship from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), where her doctoral research examined the determinants of entrepreneurial behavior among the Orang Asli communities in Peninsular Malaysia. She combines her academic expertise with corporate experience in customer service and account management, fostering a practical, research-informed approach to teaching, supervision, and community engagement.
