Dr. Teh Zaharah Yaacob

Dr. Teh Zaharah Yaacob is a dedicated academic and industry-experienced professional at the Faculty of Management, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Before joining academia full-time, she accumulated 18 years of professional experience in the insurance and banking sector, specialising in underwriting, risk assessment, and analytical evaluation. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance and Risk Management and a Master of Business Administration from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). In 2019, she was awarded her PhD from UiTM, focusing on Halal Meat Supply Chain Risk Management and Governance, underscoring her strong foundation in Halal logistics, supply chain assurance and governance frameworks. Her early industry exposure shaped her analytical mindset, while her engagement with private universities and colleges enhanced her expertise in teaching adult learners and full-time students. Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in curriculum development, programme enhancement, and quality assurance mechanisms, which strengthened her pedagogical approach and understanding of academic standards. As a Head of Programme for Undergraduate Studies, she contributed to academic management, accreditation processes, and student development, demonstrating strong leadership, organisational capability, and strategic thinking. Dr Teh Zaharah is passionate about research and scholarly contributions. Her work spans Halal supply chain management, sustainable logistics, risk governance and management studies, leading to publications, research grants and industry collaborations. With a commitment to impact-driven teaching and research, she continuously integrates real-world applications, innovative learning approaches, and community-centred outreach into her academic practice, positioning her as an inspiring educator, researcher, and leader in her field.
